So, I turned the switch on for http://www.scandinavianaccents.com/ today. It’s a clean design e-commerce site selling Scandinavian Jewelery as well as high quality tea cups. I built it on the Network Solutions E-commerce system. It’s a decent turn-key system that I recommend for most start ups. The monthly cost is high, but the development cost…
The Kids Camp Expo site is live. They are a trade show put on by Porchlight Productions, producers of the Lake Home and Cabin Show as well as this one. The site itself is nothing special, but it works and communicates the message. This is the first year of the Summer Camp Expo, a trade…
So, I did a site for Batbanger, a baseball swing training product. It’s a pretty straight forward hard coded html site using the Network Solutions E-commerce package. I know turn-key e-commerce products sometimes get a bad wrap, but this one seems to work well. It’s not as powerful or extensible as magento, but using two…
Array sorting is always fun. php provides more functions then you can imagine to do array sorting. I recently had to use the usort function. It’s a pretty handy one for sorting single values on their keys so you can end up with apple in index 0 and zebra in index 21, or whatever the…
So, this is a WordPress Blog. Heck, if you’re reading this in the near future, it’s probably a WordPress blog with a default theme still on it. I wanted to get an XML sitemap made for this blog to submit it to Google. Not that traffic to this site is going to make me rich…
So, Google analytics is pretty simple to install. Just put a piece of javascript in the footer of your site, and in no time Google is telling you all sorts of information about the site visitors. I’ve had this blog up and running a few days now, so I figured I would install analytics to…
So, I’ve been using Freshbooks for a while. It’s an online time tracking and invoicing system for small businesses. I’ve pretty much become addicted to the system. It’s nice for me because I tend to work on a lot of little things sometimes. I can easily track time by project and bill accordingly. It allows…
If this blog gets any traction, people will start to notice a connection between Evermore Technologies and Irish Titan. Long story short, Evermore Technologies is currently me, Kevin Miles, and the company I do business as. It might be easier to call it Kevin Miles, but that doesn’t have the same ring to it. Plus…
So, I try to track some useful development information in my Wiki. I’m a busy guy, so like this blog, it doesn’t get enough attention, but I just opened it to the public. Here you go: https://evermoretech.wiki.zoho.com/. I’ll work on improving it and allowing others to update it (User generated content ftw.) in the near…
So I posted some code earlier today and didn’t like how it looked. Logic kicked in and I searched for a wordpress plugin to render code better. I found WordPress Syntax Highlighter. It works well, but as you can see (If I haven’t corrected it yet) from my previous post, it’s not perfect. My class…
