Google XML Sitemap generator for WordPress

So, this is a WordPress Blog.  Heck, if you’re reading this in the near future, it’s probably a WordPress blog with a default theme still on it.  I wanted to get an XML sitemap made for this blog to submit it to Google.  Not that traffic to this site is going to make me rich or anything, it is really so I can get a better understanding on how Google searches sites and how to make my sites search friendly.

Knowing that wordpress is an open source blog platform with a ton of plugins written for it, I went searching for one to make an XML sitemap for me, and found, in a short time, the Google XML Sitemaps Plugin for WordPress.  A quick install later, followed by creating the sitemap files and setting 755 permissions on them, I had a site map.  The file checked out format wise when I reviewed it manually and submitted it to Google, so it seems to do a good inital job.

Now I just need to see how it handles new posts (Like this one) in the .xml file while keeping Google informed of the changes.
